Customer photographs

I'm really keen to hear your comments, and see photos of the items you've bought from me 'in situ', and with your permission, post them here on the blog.

Here is a photo of the lovely Lucy's fireplace, displaying the short Heart Garland as part of her Christmas arrangement. Thank you Lucy, and thank you for the photos xx

The Christmas Rush!

Wow, I've been phenominally busy this month! My local gift shop has been selling lots of my pieces, so I've had to make more to restock her, lovely people from work have bought pieces and ordered commissions, and lovely people from my forum have placed orders with me. I wasn't sure I'd get it all done in time, and the blog has certainly suffered for it, but I hope to get it ship-shape and Bristol-fashion over the Christmas break.

In the meantime, here's one of the ragdoll commissions I've just finished (for baby Eleanor)...

...and a big pile of jewellery that I've been making, but haven't been able to photograph properly yet!

I'm certainly not complaining though, it's been absolutely amazing, and I've had some lovely lovely compliments about my work, thank you so much everyone :-) ...PS, If you have bought from me, please feel free to leave a comment for everyone to see.

Bestest Christmas Wishes to you all
Rebecca xx

Hand painted pieces continued:

Here's some more of my handpainted work...

This oak needlework box has been basecoated in a soft cream, and sprays and garlands of violets have been hand painted on. The inside is lined in one of my favourite fabrics, a Jane Churchill pink and green check - yummmm! This is a one off, as the work box was found at an antiques fair.
Sizes: 37cm wide (inc handles) x 18cm high x 23cm deep (inc the feet)

Price: £25.00 plus carriage (and please note, this is a weighty piece of oak)

Wooden framed mirror, basecoated in lilac, with sprays of purpley-white, five petalled flowers (see detail photo below)
Painted frame measures 25.5 x 25.5cm
Mirror measures 9.5 x 9.5cm
Price: £10.00 plus carriage.

This a another Folk Art inspired chopping/cheese board. The basecoat is red oxide colour, and there is a mirror-image posey of daisies in the centre, surrounded by a leaf garland border - all hand painted (see detail photo below).
As with my other chopping boards, the design has been well varnished, so can be safely wiped with a damp cloth. All the cutting takes place on the other side of the board.
Size: 20 x 30cm
Price: £16.00 plus carriage.

This is a key rack, with four brass hooks, and a sweet, handpainted, clifftop view over the sea, where the sun is setting on the horizon, boats scud across the bay, and a lighthouse keeps watch over the scene.
Comes complete with two strong D-loop hooks, so it's ready to hang.

Size: 18cm high x 17cm wide.
Price: £7.50 plus carriage

Here's a couple more examples of my wooden Treasure Boxes. These are painted (these examples have been basecoated in a pale blue, topcoated in cobalt blue, and softly distressed to reveal the undercoat below, but other colours are available). Then the centre of the lid has a handpainted panel, containing various scenes of buildings, birdhouses and trees. See detail photo below.

Size: 15cm wide x 11.5cm deep x 7.7cm high (highest point of curved lid)

Price: £8.50 plus carriage.

Fabric Crafts: Country Fairies Commissions

Here are three little Country Fairies, which I made for three of my favourite little people, my God-Sister's children, Amy, James and Charlotte.

Fabric Crafts - Christmassy things:

Ooooh I love Christmas! I get very excited :-) and love making Christmas decorations. Please remember nothing shown here is a toy, they are all decorative items:

Who Bagged Santa?
These gorgeous Santas have lovely full, wool, beards, and are contained in their own hessian, padded bag, decorated with a wire edged ribbon. Various colours available, but all very very Christmassy!
There are two sizes:
Large (approx 24cm wide x 29cm high)
Price: £18.00 plus carriage

Small (approx 16cm wide x 24cm high)
Price: £10.00 plus carriage

Snowmen!
I love these little guys. Their heads, bodies, bobbles and hat bands are in a winter white, short pile, faux fur. Their noses are orange felt, their mouths and eyebrows are stitched, their eyes are black beads, they have felt scarves and folky buttons on their tummies. They have weighting beads in their bases, so they stand up perfectly, mine sits on my windowsill.
They are approximately 30cm tall x 18cm wide, and come in a variety of Christmassy colours
Price: £10.00 plus carriage each.

Country style 'Hearts' garland.
This has 9 padded hearts, each one individually embellished with stitching, fabric and buttons. There are 8 medium hearts and 1 large heart in the centre.
The garland is plaited, natural twine and has hessian and check fabric strips tie on along the length. The full length is 142cm
Price: £35.00 plus carriage

This shorter 'Hearts' garland is very similar, but has three sizes of individually embellished hearts, 1 large padded one in the centre, four medium padded ones, and four dinky 'quilted' ones. The large and medium hearts are tied on to the plaited, natural twine garland with check fabric, and the dinky hearts are tied on with more twine, so they swing around in the breeze.
This garland is 127cm long
Price: £28.00 plus carriage

See the pictures below for some close up shots...

'Triple Hanging Hearts'
These are padded, individually embellished, medium hearts strung together in threes. They are lightly scented with cinnamon too, so they make a lovely Country style Christmas decoration.

Length (including twine loop) approximately 45cm x 9cm wide
Price: £9.50 each plus carriage455[][]p-0---0

'Country Style' Christmas Wreaths...
Lovely twiggy wreaths, for indoor use only are smothered in a mixture of 'quilted' hearts embellished with a variety of buttons, cinnamon sticks, buttons, fabric ties and twine...oh, and some have dried orange slices too. Really pretty. Each one measures approximately 29cm x 38cm (from top of hanging loop to bottom of heart - string bows fall longer than this)
Price: £12.50 each plus carriage.

Tree Top Fairies                                                                 These sweet little Country Style Fairies are designed to sit at the top of your Christmas Tree, spreading a bit of Christmas cheer round your home. They come in a variety of haircolours and dress fabrics, and measure approximately 33cm from top of head to bottom of dress (they haven't got legs - obviously!) x 21cm (wingspan). Price: £8.50 plus carriage.

Fabric crafts: Country Fairies

My fabric based crafts are a wide range of decorative home items, from simple lavender filled hearts and birds, to cool Christmas decorations. I often get asked 'What's it for?'...My answer is always 'It just is'. Decorative things don't always need a purpose, just being pretty and making you smile is more than enough.

My work always has a swing tag with my logo attached, and I always mark my fabric crafts 'Not a toy'.

The Country Fairies...The original Holly's Friends:
These are all individual, I have never repeated a fairy, and I have done my best to give them all individual names, but when I've done a commission, obviously, sometimes I have to.

My little girls are £7.50 each, and measure approximately 20cm tall.
All of these are sold, but I am happy to do commissions.

...and I'm afraid, fairies can be very naughty, and despite my best efforts, these ones are refusing to format nicely...please excuse them :-)
