Cake Decorating:

Cake Decorating is a relatively new skill for me... I use the term 'skill' loosely!

This cake, made for my MiL's birthday, is covered in approximately 50 marzipan roses. The petals are in two tones of hand mixed pink. It's a while since I've looked at this photo...I'd forgotten how pretty this cake was.
Our Christmas cake 2009. The Snowman, Santa and Chimney are bought, Fimo models from a cake decorating shop in Sittingbourne. I covered the cake, made a billion snowballs, and the holly leaves.
I made this cake for our Chairman of the Board's wife's birthday in December 2010. I based it (heavily) on Peggy Porchen's 'Parcel' cake, as shown in the book behind my effort.

I was very pleased with the outcome, and due to adverse weather, we ended up sending it by courier to the recipient. I was very relieved to hear that it arrived in one piece, and that it tasted as good as it looked!

These decorated chocolate biscuits were made for the Gardeners' Society Spring Show...they won me a 1st prize!

Lemon Meringue Cupcakes (also for a Gardener's Society Show). These won a 2nd prize.

They are vanilla cupcakes with lots of lemon curd flavoured buttercream icing, crumbled meringue pieces, and butterflies made in piped royal icing.

This is Ruby, a likeness of one of my Father in Law's garden railway trains. It was made as a surprise for my In-Law's 50th Wedding Anniversary. To say they liked it is an understatement.
